From Curious to Candidate - Running for Council
Interested in running for City Council or learning more about local politics? Your City Your Voice is a free community initiative helping people in Greater Sudbury explore what it takes to run for councillor or mayor in the 2026 municipal election. Through workshops, resources, and community connections, participants will learn about the role, the election process, and how to get started. Open to everyone, with a special focus on encouraging underrepresented voices in local leadership.
Run Where You Are: Say Yes!
A high-energy, storytelling and connection event designed to help participants move from inspired → informed → connected. Focused on demystifying the first steps into municipal politics and showing that saying “yes” to leadership looks different for everyone.

For this hour, we’ll be joined by Maddy (@bymaddyaucoin), a fantastic copywriter and editor. PoliticsNOW will be hosting a virtual roundtable discussion with three phenomenal Northern Ontario politicians: Kristin Murray (Timmins municipal councillor), Viviane Lapointe (Member of Parliament for Sudbury) and Erika Lougheed (East Ferris municipal councillor and provincial NDP candidate for Nipissing).
