We want to get women elected!
At PoliticsNOW, we’re changing the landscape of northern Ontario
By engaging women in municipal politics and promoting initiatives that support electing more women to city councils, our goal is to have more women than ever before run for an elected position. We are a non-partisan grassroots organisation that aims to amplify women’s voices and engage in gender-inclusive political discourse, engage more women in politics at all levels of government and work together to support women candidates.
We’re building a community to support women candidates for municipal elections, all throughout Northern Ontario. Find out more about who we are and what our plans are to change the political landscape.

We’re partnering up with She&Her for a new and amazing venture that is going to train the next generation of female leaders. She’s On Board is a free, one-day workshop led by some of the city’s most experienced female leaders to equip women to become more comfortable with governance and public policy, as well as connecting them to established boards in Greater Sudbury.

“When I was elected in 2014, there wasn't a PoliticsNOW to provide me with support. It would have been so helpful to have a group like this providing advice and support during my first campaign. I watched PoliticsNOW in action during the lead up to the 2018 municipal election, and I encourage women to make contact with them now if you are even just thinking about running in the 2022 municipal election.”
“The seminar assisted in my decision to put my name forward to become a candidate for the fall municipal elections. I really enjoyed the webinars. They kept me focused and gave me confidence to stand shoulder to shoulder with the other candidates and answer questions. Listening to the other ladies of Northern Ontario energized me to continue the door to door campaigning and keep the momentum going till the end.”
“The first time PoliticsNOW had their campaign school webinar series, the municipal election in Edmonton Alberta just ended. Learning from the webinars all the way from here, I felt inspired to keep the momentum of learning, getting involved, and keeping motivated leading to my campaign in a few years.”
“Knowing PoliticsNOW was in my court encouraged me daily to work diligently to win a seat at the table in my municipality. More women are needed in all levels of government in Canada. I will run again.”
“I was very fortunate to attend campaign school workshops and listen in on some very interesting webinars. Also, I was very impressed when we met up for an evening with our guest speaker, France Gelinas. MPP for Nickel Belt. I would highly recommend any workshop/campaign school or information session that PoliticsNOW puts on. The information that is shared with the participants is top notch. I am a huge supporter of PoliticsNOW as I believe in their mandate to empower women.”
